As the door shut behind the visitor, Caden turned away, nervous. So, Lucas had done something wrong, very wrong, if the Mayor was after him. Caden feared for Lucas. He had begun to like this new face. Whatever happened he hoped it wasn't too bad, hoped that they would be merciful. He glanced out the window to see figures in black walking among the cars in the streets. Oh dear, this would be very bad indeed. Biting his lip, Caden looked to the phone, grabbing up the receiver and starting to dial the number of the Dusk Haven News. Sadly the number came up as nonexistent, a cool tone on the other end telling him so. Another knock on his door startled him, and he cautiously opened the door. Had he been caught? Luckily no, it was only Gary. But Gary the intern had something important in his little intern hands; the Dusk Haven paper. Caden quickly grabbed it up and drew Gary the intern into his office, closing and locking the door behind him. The two poured over the paper, which read as such:
DUSK HAVEN NEWS
So, what is going on in Dusk Haven? Hard hitting report by Lucas Dunver.
In my brief time in this small town of Dusk Haven, I've seen a good amount of unnatural events; Animals from the sky, flying lights above my head, shadows waling on their own, and even a slide with something living underneath it, dragging it all over town. And the whole time, I thought to myself, "Lucas, why is this all happening?"Well I believe I may have uncovered the truth. The reason that everything odd is happening here, is that this place is a secret haven for the supernatural. As in, Dusk Haven. Everything odd and weird is attracted to this place, because the citizens see them as average and every day. This little town on the edge of nowhere, is the one place they can feel at home. The town's government has been suppressing the fact that this isn't normal, and that outside of here, this doesn't happen. That outside of here, Angels don't visit, Shadows stick to their owners, and there isn't a nice man at the radio station, keeping you all calm with his soothing tones as he tells you the days happenings, assuring you its normal.
Caden looks up at Gary, and knows what he has to do. He goes to his microphone, and breathes a deep, deciding breath. "Hello, Listeners. I have some very important news for you." Caden begins to read the article, all of it, to his listeners. He and Gary the intern both know that he is breaking some very major Dusk Haven rules. They are taking a huge risk here. Caden finishes the article, and looks out the window, witnessing the surging mass of black figures pushing into the radio station. He sighs, and looks at Gary, before speaking into the old and trusted radio station microphone. "Now, Listeners, after this broadcast, I may not be back, and if I am...I may not be the same. I ask you to remain calm, and keep tuning in to your favorite station." Gary jumps up as the door starts to rattle and shake, being smashed into by innumerable fists and arms and bodies. Caden Lucius closes his eyes, and, as the door crashes down, and the angry shouting of the dark figures becomes louder, and even as a gun is pressed to the back of his head, Caden smiles.
"Goodbye, Listeners, and goodnight."

Welcome, to Dusk Haven.
CHAPTER ONE: On the Air.
"The moon is high, the sky is dark, and the screaming has just started in the old Jefferson Manor. Another typical day in Dusk Haven. Hello listeners, I would like to thank you for tuning in to your favorite station once again. I have a special announcement for you from our wonderful overlords: You all know that playground by the old school house. We'll it seems that parents have been letting CHILDREN into the old playground. I would like to remind you all that the old playground is NOT for playing. It is not the towns responsibility if anyone goes missing or is hurt in any grave manner. It would be the fault of the monster that has recently taken up residence under the slides. That is the end of this public announcement. And now, for a commercial break!"
A man leans back from the old microphone, flicking on the prerecorded commercials. He ran rough hands through smooth, slicked back blonde hair. He reached a tattooed arm to grab his drink, and loosened his tie. This man was Caden Lucius, and as he sipped his drink, purple eyes rolled as another commercial played, advertising an Exorcist service or something. As the light blinked to warn him, he smiled and leaned back to the microphone. "Hello listeners, this is Caden Lucius, and welcome to Dusk Haven."
Chapter Five: Just Another Wednesday
Immediately after Lucas left, Caden walked to the calendar. He had forgotten the day, other than the fact that it was Wednesday. As his finger found the date, his eyes widened. April first... "Oh dear, this won't do... This will not be good..." He looked outside the window, and tapped the glass, dust falling off bit by bit. His room was darker than usual, and his gently glowing eyes were some of the only lights in the room. April first was a day of pure chaos in Dusk Haven. The forces that ruled the town found entertainment in "pranking" the citizens of Dusk Haven. Sending them suddenly into the air, covering them with moss, evisceration, nothing too major. But it was an annoyance. Caden sat back in his chair, sighed as the dead gophers started pelting the window, falling from the dust clouds. Great, more animals from the sky this year. He quickly started to list of the night's events, as he had decided to stay the night in the office; Gopher rain, increasing to Badgers as the night went on, strange disco-music coming from the sewer grate under the office window, and flashing lights speedily passing over the little town around 9:30. The night had ended with a resounding explosion coming from the northeast, near the Cradle Valley. Caden leaned back and closed his eyes, falling asleep.
"Gopher rain, disco-tech, and hovering lights flying above. Welcome to Dusk Haven. Hello Listeners, I'm glad to inform you that we have once again survived April First, and this year with no fatalities! In related news, we have our interns researching that song coming from below last night." After a moment of quiet, he leaned into the microphone again. "I just listened into a conversation going on in the hall, and well, it seems the Slide Monster is still currently in our parking lot. It also seems that Lucas has published his first Dusk Haven newspaper. I would greatly appreciate it if you all went out to see what its all about!" A cheer from down the hall is heard, and that same disco music from last night begins playing loudly. Caden chuckles, and leans into the Microphone. "And now, the Weather."
Caden let the music play, and a knock on his door caught his attention. He stood, going to answer it. As our beloved Caden Lucius opens the door, a tall figure in all black stands behind it. In a deep voice, darker than an abyss, he speaks to Caden. "The Newspaper. You know the man behind it yes?" Caden nods, and raises an eyebrow. "Yes, what's the problem?" The man in black withdraws a small envelope, a sigil of an eye stamped on it. Caden's eyes widen. "What does the Mayor want with him?" The man turns away. "It doesn't matter, he knows too much."

Chapter Four: A Happening
Traffic was the same as usual, a few cars had moved the night before. Caden noted how the window was becoming increasingly covered in dust, more and more as the seconds went by. He opened an envelope left on his desk, and read. "Alright listeners, I have some more local news for you, straight from the envelope of Gary the Intern. Oh, lovely! It seems there is a new face in town, and he has proclaimed himself to be God. To prove this, he has brought life back to a dead tree, summoned lightning, and risen above the heads of a few of our dear listeners. Luckily our lovely Dusk Haven police force has taken him into custody and taken care of him. Wonderful!" Caden tosses the letter into a pile near his desk. "Well, my dear listeners, our respected Chief of Police has recently sent his agents to inspect us, and they have asked me to remind you that the List of Approved Names has been updated, so if you're planning on risking having a child, make sure you check it out!" A knock on the door startles him, and Caden pauses. "I'm sorry, my dear listeners, but we seem to have a Visitor...I think I'll welcome him in." Caden stands, fixes his tie, and opens the door. Standing there isn't Gary the intern, nor his boss. It was Lucas, the green-eyed reporter from who-knows-where. Caden blinks in surprise, and clears his throat. "Um, hello Lucas, may I help you...?" he asks as the pause music plays on in the background, some sort of techno or maybe rap, Caden had no clue. Lucas nods and takes a pencil from behind his ear, holding up a notebook. "I was wondering if I could sit in on your show, to see whats what in Dusk Haven." Caden was surprised. Another person (if he WAS a person) in Caden's little office...? Well, why not? Caden ushers him inside, and has him sit where he wants. Sitting at the microphone, Caden Lucius once again speaks to his listeners. "I do apologize, my dear listeners, but our guest had a bit of business he needed to clear up. Now, back to what you're all here for; another Slide Monster Update. According to our Interns, the Slide that the monster resides in has taken up Mr. Allistair's parking space in the Radio Stations parking lot. We will continue to observe it and avoid it with all the fear we can muster."
Caden speaks on, doing what he does best. Lucas watches with a keen eye, and listens with a deft ear. Caden watches him scribble on, and as he finishes the day, Lucas comes up and shakes his hand, and walks out. Caden looks up, and smiles slyly. "Now this...Is not your average happening in Dusk Haven."

Chapter Three: Various Misdeeds.
Caden walked out of his office, closing the mauve door behind him with an audible creak. He made his way past another office with a tinted window, the tentacles of a some Lovecraftian horror waving around behind it. One of the overlords in his town, the Editor. Stepping over a fresh puddle of blood and around a broken desk, As the Station door closed behind him, he looked up at the gray cloudless sky, noting the flashing lights over the office. The conversation over the phone had intrigued him, given him a tip that the Shadow figures in the Old Schoolhouse were starting to wander farther from the building. Caden had gone out on a limb and suggested that maybe they didn't like the Slide Monster. As he walked up Copper street, past the motionless empty cars, he stepped aside as one vanished and reappeared a little ways away. Caden Lucius lived not too far from the radio station, in a small apartment building. He unlocked the front door of the building, having the only key. He was the only one living in the whole building, after all. If you didn't count the ghosts on floors two and four, that is. He settled into his room on the third floor, looking out the window to watch the Four O'clock bus go past again, and vanish as it crashed into the wall of the laundromat. Closing his eyes, Caden layed back, and fell into a nice nightmare.
"The sky glows, the dust is heavy, and your Shadow might not be your own. Welcome, to Dusk Haven. Welcome back, my dear listeners. Last night I witnessed the Four O'clock Bus making it's rounds once again. I'd like to remind my dear listeners that the Four O'clock is not for the living, and should be avoided at all costs. In local news, the Shadow figures have begun to wander from their home in the Old Schoolhouse, Be warned, your shadow may not be your own, but the one in the corner of your eye might be." Caden looked at the window, dust pounding against it. "The dust rages on in Dusk Haven today, and that spells bad news for any of you Spelunkers or Bird Watchers out there, as birds don't fly in dust, and our Overlords have officially deemed unregulated Spelunking illegal as of right now. Now I know you listeners out there have been wondering; Caden, who is this Lucas person? Why does he wear such a classy vest, and official glasses? Well my listeners, I only know so much, I did see him try to open one of the doors to The Donut Shop. Silly Lucas, you can't open the Donut Shop. It only opens for the Angels. And now, for a commercial break." Caden flicks on the commercial, and looks at his watch. The hands swirled around, and the eye behind them blinked. Hm, so it was only ten thirty. Caden sighed, and smiled slightly. As the commercial ended, he leaned in, and said in his hypnotizing tones; "Hey there, listeners. Welcome back to Dusk Haven. I have a question for you. Does anyone know, what the slide monster really is? Well I hope you do, because reports from the inters at the playground state that the slide is now on the opposite side of the playground, and could move again any time. And now, for Traffic."

Chapter Two: Slide update.
"Welcome back, dear listeners. I would like to remind you that the weekly Time Change is approaching, so get ready to set your calenders back to March 9th!" Caden's smooth voice rolled over the microphone, but as he went to speak he was interrupted by muffled conversation and rustling papers. "Oh, thank you. I'm sorry listeners, but that was Gary, one of our surviving interns. He's just given me an update on the Slide Monster situation. Alright. Yes, mhm. Oh, oh dear... Well listeners, it seems that the Slide Monster has eaten one of our other interns. Shame, really. Anyways, now for the weather; The sky is gray as ever, with hints of that dust storm due for 6 PM tonight. Better grab your umbrellas!" A small ding goes off, telling Caden that it's reached that time to ask for callers. Not that he ever got any. "It's that time again listeners! Time to hear from any of you, anyone out there! I mean, you never answer, but that's alright." There's a moment of silence, and a clap. "Alright! Thank you for getting in touch! Now, for our daily traffic report." Caden stands and heads to the window, opening it and leaning out. After a moment, he closes it and returns to his stool, leaning into the microphone. "Okay listeners, there seems to be 47 blue cars, 91 red cars, and 12 yellow cars all still sitting on Copper street. So nothing much has changed this week, besides two or three cars moving. In local news, Mr. Alistair has announced that he has finally discovered the Necronimicon, and will begin raising the dead this Saturday. Now that that's over with, I'd like to discuss the new stranger who's recently moved in. His name is Lucas. Who is he, and why are his bright green eyes so wonderful? He says he is a reporter, working for a newspaper company that has sights on our little town of Dusk Haven. Is he with the Government? Does he have something to do with the UFOs in Cradle Valley? Probably not, but hey, who knows? That's all for tonight my dear listeners. Thank you for joining us, goodbye and goodnight, Dusk Haven."
Caden leans back, sighing. He stands to leave, when a scream from the hall interrupts him. Another intern gone, nothing unusual. A bloody envelope slips under the door, probably from Gary. He was Caden's favorite intern. This month. He began to walk over to it, when his purple gaze fell upon the phone on his desk. And as he'd predicted, it rang. He carefully took the receiver and raised it to his ear, answering in a smooth and perfect tone; "Hello, this is Caden Lucius, what's your story?"
